Vann Helms
pioneered the creative illumination of Downtown Miami's skyline
in the early 1980's. He worked closely with the late Douglas
Leigh, who designed the colorful lighting for The Empire
State Building in New York, and Centrust Tower in
Miami. As a painter, Vann's ability to capture the
three-dimensional quality of Miami's best known landmarks on a
flat surface is unsurpassed. His pallet highlights bold tropical
colors around impressionistic landscapes. His impressive four,
five and six panel freestanding screens represent a totally new
Miami artform for a new century.
